Overview:

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operations of Prince George Urban Aboriginal Justice Society and shall oversee the activities of all departments which deliver services and programs to the community. The E.D. will work in unison with the accounting department in all aspects of financial accountabilities: projections, annual budgeting, forecasting, and year end processes.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, e.g. accounting, finance, business administration, economics or possess a two- year business diploma with a minimum of five years’ experience leading a non-profit agency with preference to justice related programming
  • Training and experience in conflict resolution, with preference to restorative justice processes
  • Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance.
  • Experience and working relationship with government institutions.
  • Proven record for performance with set goals.
  • Excellent oral, written & listening skills.
  • Efficient knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and use of the Internet.
  • Motivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from employees.
  • Possess prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve business targets.
  • Ability to prepare proposals, and – or grant submissions.
  • Annual criminal record clearance provided for personnel file.
  • Other duties as required to meet the professional standards associated with the Society.
